PrevDent originates from the Netherlands and is associated with the use of nano-hydroxyapatite in dental care. However, the brand's professional pedigree does not prove that every product has the same effect. A toothpaste for home use, a mouthwash, and an in-office treatment are distinct formulas and have different modes of application.

What does nHAp mean?

The abbreviation refers to nano-hydroxyapatite, a mineral ingredient studied for purposes such as remineralization and sealing exposed dentinal tubules. It does not mean enamel regrowth or the repair of a visible hole in a tooth. The potential action is determined by the properties of the ingredient and the entire formula.

PrevDent nHAp 80 ml

PrevDent nHAp 80 ml is a toothpaste free from fluoride and SLS. The manufacturer declares 15% nano-hydroxyapatite. The INCI also lists potassium nitrate, xylitol, and Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate—a detergent other than SLS. This is a product for brushing, not for rinsing.

It may be of interest to people comparing mineral toothpastes and products for sensitive teeth. Do not assume that a higher percentage of nHAp in itself guarantees a greater effect. If pain persists, a diagnosis of the cause is necessary.

PrevDent OrthoCare nHAp 80 ml

OrthoCare nHAp 80 ml is a toothpaste aimed at people with braces. It contains nHAp and potassium nitrate. We do not automatically attribute a 15% concentration to it based on the brand name—such a parameter requires separate confirmation.

PrevDent Mouthwash 300 ml

Mouthwash 300 ml is a mouthwash with xylitol, free from fluoride and alcohol. The published list of ingredients does not contain hydroxyapatite. It should therefore not be described as a liquid equivalent of the toothpaste with 15% nHAp.

A mouthwash can supplement your hygiene routine, but it does not replace brushing and cleaning interdental spaces. Choose the frequency and amount according to the instructions on the packaging. Do not apply the usage method of the toothpaste to the mouthwash.

PrevDent OrthoCare Mouthwash 300 ml

OrthoCare Mouthwash 300 ml is a mouthwash from the line for people with braces. Its published INCI also lists xylitol, not nHAp. The OrthoCare name describes the intended purpose of the line but does not mean the composition is identical to the OrthoCare toothpaste.

Will a set be a good choice?

A set of two toothpastes or two mouthwashes can be convenient if you already know the product and use it regularly. Check the number of items, capacity, and current unit price. What does "whitening" PrevDent toothpaste mean?

nHAp toothpaste is not a peroxide gel for tray whitening. Cosmetic effects related to cleaning and the tooth surface should be distinguished from chemical shade changes. We do not promise an effect of a specific number of shades or the absence of irritation.

No. The confirmed 15% declaration applies to the nHAp 80 ml toothpaste. The mouthwashes have different formulas, and their INCI does not list hydroxyapatite.

Does the mouthwash replace the toothpaste?

No. It is a supplement to hygiene. Brushing and cleaning interdental spaces remain necessary.

Can you choose a fluoride-free toothpaste when wearing braces?

Discuss your choice with your orthodontist. The OrthoCare label alone does not replace a caries risk assessment and individual recommendations.

Will PrevDent repair a cavity?

It will not replace treatment for a visible cavity. Supporting the remineralization of an early lesion is a different process than rebuilding a lost fragment of a tooth.
