LyDenti — co to za marka? Niemieckie pasty wybielające z hydroksyapatytem, które wyrosły z gabinetu

LyDenti — what kind of brand is this? German whitening toothpastes with hydroxyapatite that grew out of a dental practice

Most "whitening" toothpastes in drugstores are the same as any other, just with stronger abrasives. LyDenti approached the subject from a different angle: it is a company that has been whitening teeth in dental offices for years, and they created their toothpastes to maintain those whitening results at home.

In this article: where LyDenti comes from, what is in the Elements pastes beyond the promise of whiteness, and which of the four to choose.

Where does LyDenti come from?

LyDenti is a German company from Berlin. It started with professional whitening: systems and LED lamps for dental offices. Today, its in-office SMIQUICK system (whitening with LED and thermal activation, peroxide-free) holds the title of "Innovative Product of the Year 2025," and the company itself cites 18 years of experience in this field.

The Elements line consists of its daily-use toothpastes. They were created as a supplement to treatments: something the patient takes home so that teeth do not darken after whitening. The products are manufactured and certified in the European Union. In Poland, the brand is already present in large drugstore and pharmacy chains, but few people still know what is behind it.

What makes Elements toothpastes stand out?

The four LyDenti toothpastes share a common core. Instead of one "whitening ingredient," you get a set that does three things at once:

  • Hydroxyapatite, the mineral that makes up tooth enamel. In toothpaste, it acts as a material for filling micro-cavities on the tooth surface. Smoother enamel absorbs fewer stains and looks brighter. More on how this works in the article on hydroxyapatite toothpastes.
  • Xylitol, a birch sugar that decay-causing bacteria cannot turn into acid. It helps maintain pH balance in the oral cavity after eating.
  • Aloe vera, vitamins B3 and E for the gums. Whitening, including in-office procedures, can sometimes irritate the mucous membrane; from the beginning, LyDenti designed the toothpastes to be gentle on the tissues around the teeth.

Additionally, there are things that are not in Elements toothpastes: SLS (a foaming detergent that exacerbates aphthae in some people), parabens, and microplastics. The formula is vegan. The foaming is gentle, and the consistency is dense and silky. The manufacturer recommends brushing for at least 3 minutes, rather than the customary two, because hydroxyapatite needs contact with the enamel.

The brightening effect comes from removing stains from the surface and smoothing the enamel, not from chemically whitening the dentin. It is important not to expect from a toothpaste what a procedure provides. If your teeth are dark "from within," read first about what really works in at-home whitening.

Four toothpastes: which one to choose?

They differ by one additional ingredient and their target use. All come in 125 ml tubes.

SMIWE: everyday whitening, also after a procedure

SMIWE is the basic toothpaste of the line and the simplest choice. Hydroxyapatite plus gentle micro-polishers for surface stains from coffee, tea, and red wine, with aloe and plant extracts for the gums. A good choice if you want one toothpaste to maintain brighter teeth, especially after professional whitening. Flavor: mint.

SMIOXY: for people with implants and gum problems

SMIOXY contains active oxygen. The goal is to clean areas that a toothbrush cannot reach well: gingival pockets and the areas around implants, where anaerobic flora accumulates. The manufacturer directs it toward people with implants, crowns, and a tendency for gingival inflammation. It is the least "whitening" toothpaste of the four, although hydroxyapatite and xylitol are also included. A good choice if you have implants or if your gums react to ordinary toothpastes.

SMIME: whitening plus arginine

SMIME combines whitening with arginine, an amino acid naturally present in saliva that oral bacteria convert into basic compounds. In practice: the toothpaste helps neutralize acids after meals and supports balance throughout the entire oral cavity, not just on the enamel. Flavor: mint with eucalyptus, cooler than in SMIWE. A good choice if you often eat or drink acidic things and want a whitening toothpaste that takes that into account.

SMIYO Sensitive: when teeth react to cold

The fourth toothpaste in the line is a version for sensitive teeth: whitening with hydroxyapatite plus ingredients that soothe hypersensitivity. It is currently sold out; you can check availability on the brand's website. If hypersensitivity is your main problem, a sensible alternative from our selection is PrevDent nHAp with potassium nitrate.

How to use it for the best effect?

  • Three minutes, circular motions, twice a day. Apply to a dry or wet toothbrush; the dense consistency works in both cases.
  • After brushing, spit it out, but do not rinse thoroughly with water: the hydroxyapatite and xylitol need to remain on the teeth.
  • After a whitening procedure in the office, start immediately, as that is when enamel most readily absorbs stains.
  • You will usually see the first shade differences after a few weeks of regular use; it is a toothpaste, not a procedure.

Why did LyDenti make it into our selection?

Because it is a rare case of a whitening toothpaste designed by people in the whitening industry, not by marketing experts. Instead of aggressive abrasives: hydroxyapatite and polishing. Instead of a "5 shades in a week" promise: maintaining the effect achieved by the office procedure. And a composition that also cares for the gums. The price of 99 PLN for 125 ml is less than most toothpastes with hydroxyapatite in our store per 100 ml.

If you are looking for a strictly additive-free toothpaste with the shortest possible ingredient list, Ollie will work better. If you want to brighten your teeth as much as possible without peroxides, choose PrevDent nHAp. Choose LyDenti when you care about a toothpaste to use after whitening or when you need the version with active oxygen for implants.

Frequently asked questions

Do LyDenti toothpastes contain peroxides?

SMIWE and SMIME do not: they brighten using hydroxyapatite and gentle polishers. In SMIOXY, the source of "active oxygen" is carbamide peroxide in a concentration permitted for toothpastes sold without dental supervision; its task is to clean pockets and the areas around implants, not to whiten the dentin as in a procedure.

Can I use SMIWE every day?

Yes, it is a daily-use toothpaste. It was intended specifically as a permanent toothpaste following a whitening procedure.

Is LyDenti a Polish brand?

No, it is a German brand with its headquarters in Berlin; the products are manufactured and certified in the European Union. The Polish name of the website and wide availability in Polish drugstores can be misleading.

How does SMIWE differ from SMIME?

Both whiten on the same principle. SMIME additionally contains arginine, which supports pH balance, and has a cooler flavor with eucalyptus. SMIWE focuses on aloe and plant extracts for the gums.
